Kidkanevil - Minjo (Blue Daisy Remix)

I’ve played this a couple of times, but I didn’t have a blog back then, so I’m blogging it now. Blue Daisy’s first 10” on Black Acre was both physically lovely and a very, very fine pair of tracks to listen to. Kidkanevil’s ‘Back Off Man, I’m A Scientist’ LP was a very excellent group of instrumental hiphop tracks in an eastern, Ninja Tune sort of vein. Bonobo remixed him, and it slayed.

So my point is, this is one of my favourite producers of 2008 remixed by one of my favourite producers of 2009. It’s a deep future-crunk sort of squonker. Really that’s all there is to say; I could go on and on with different made-up genre names, but really the made-up genre name future-crunk hits the nail on the head with this tune. Bright, hypercoloured brain-dance wizardry.
